Banned Book Week...

Writer's picture: pepnc4pepnc4

The North Carolina School Library and Media Association recently emailed information about Banned Book Week to their members. The links to the ALA site as well as others provided educators and librarians with various sundry ideas and activities. PEP believes that Banned Book Week is an effort to mislead the public by mixing innocuous titles with more harmful texts and claiming groups like PEP are attempting to ban them. We advocate for educationally appropriate materials. If you haven't been paying attention, many of the controversial books have been written during the last 10 years. Parents, Grandparents, take a look at the PDFs on the BOOKS page and start researching and reading... if you are brave enough. The classics aren't the problem. https://www.ala.org/advocacy/bbooks/banned
